Female footy opportunities in Moreland

Moreland's AFL clubs are working hard to increase their female membership base. Here's a list of the opportunities that exist for girls to play footy in Moreland.

Brunswick Junior Football Club

The Brunswick Junior Football Club (The Dragons) provides opportunities for boys and girls in Brunswick and neighbouring areas in the inner north to play AFL footy in a friendly and inclusive environment that values participation, development and community. In 2017, the club will field an all female U16 side. Contact the club for more information.

Brunswick Renegades

Brunswick Renegades were founded in 2014 to compete in the Victorian Women’s Football League. With AFL Victoria transitioning women’s football to local community competitions next year, the club plans to field two women’s teams in the VAFA for 2017. Glenroy Football ClubGlenroy FC promo

Looking to field either a Youth Girls or senior women's sides in 2017, GFC have Collingwood marquee player, Moana Hope assisting with the coaching. Pre season training is underway 12 pm Sundays, at Sewell Reserve. From Wednesday 1 February training will be held every Monday and Wednesday starting at 5.30 pm.

Pascoe Vale Football Club

Therry Penola Football Club

The introduction of the inaugural Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA) senior female competition catering for women from the ages of 16 and over has spurred Therry Penola into action. They're aiming to field a women's team and pre season training is already underway! Email the club for more information about training times.
